What actually happened
Each line is one classified event. A catalogue change is not a price change, so it is labelled rather than merged into one percentage, and promotions are not here at all, they have their own section below.

Promotions, not price changes
These providers drop their advertised price for a while and then put it back. The lines above follow the regular price, because a promotion ending is not a price increase, and drawing it as one is how a recurring discount turns into a history of rises and falls.

Each provider is tracked through one plan, the cheapest one it currently sells of this type, so a line shows that plan's price, not a moving minimum across a changing catalogue. Where a line breaks, we had no reliable reading for those nights, we stop the line rather than carry the last price across the gap. Promotional stretches are kept out of the lines and listed separately: a discount that ends is not a price rise, and a discount that repeats is one promotion, not a history of ups and downs. Prices are converted to USD at a fixed rate. Every night is classified before it is drawn: nights we can't trust, a scrape that read only part of the catalogue, a run that copied one price across every plan, a provider whose listings change hourly, become gaps rather than price moves.In this category that is 1153 provider-nights across 28 providers. Because we only track what our scrapers reach, a provider's cheapest plan here may not be the cheapest it sells.
